La Vega de San Mateo, located between valleys and ravines, is a paradise for hikers. Here are some of our suggestions:
Vega de San Mateo-La Bodeguilla-El Helechal.
Nice route with a certain unevenness that runs through places with a lot of flora. You can start from Vega de San Mateo, but also from Finca Sabai itself, in the La Bodeguilla neighborhood. The views are magnificent, and the amount of flora and fauna will delight the walker at every moment.

La Mina Ravine
One of the most notable hiking routes in this area. A beautiful trail that begins with an ascent through the Barranco de la Mina with spectacular natural beauty, overflowing with water and beautiful waterfalls. Some sections include walking on road.

Distance: 5.69 km
Duration: 2 hours and 28 minutes.
Cruz de Tejeda-Degollada Becerra-Tejeda.
This beautiful hiking route begins at the Parador de Cruz de Tejeda and continues ascending to 1652 meters above sea level. Further on, you pass by some viewpoints where you can enjoy the view of the Roque Nublo Natural Monument and of the town of Tejeda at the Degollada de Becerra viewpoint, one of the most welcoming on the island.

Duration: 5 hours and 53 minutes.
Never forget to visit the village of Tejeda one day and stop by their bakery in the middle of the village, they are famous for their almond products.

Cuevas del Caballero Route
Las Cuevas de Caballero is an archaeological complex made up of twelve natural caves, most of which made habitable through chiming. This space is associated with places with a high magical-religious significance for the ancient Canarians. It is a very popular area for hiking, so you are likely to meet other people while you are on the route.

Circular Las Lagunetas: El Portillo-Mirador Degollada Becerra
It begins in Las Lagunetas de San Mateo, a town known among other things for its bread made in wood-fired ovens. This route with fantastic views is excellent for hiking and you are unlikely to meet other people while walking.
